INTRODUCTION TO “GO GREEN PK”
Go Green PK has been set up to promote public awareness of environmental issues and encourage the public to contribute actively towards a better environment. Go Green PK is students formed campaign. Since its establishment, the Go Green PK has planned and organized many environmental events and activities for different sectors of the community.
Go Green PK got to work after the deadly floods hit Pakistan, The first event from the Platform of Go Green PK was arranged on 10/10/10. The event was arranged in a response to 350.org call “Get to Work”. Since then, several talk sessions at different institutions have been arranged. Go Green PK actively participates in Plantation.
According to the well known scientists, the world is on tipping point that really needs to be addressed. And a list of most dangerously affected countries was issued by IPCC, where Pakistan was on the top of the list. So it is the need of the day that the issue should be addressed.
To serve the purpose, Go Green PK has been using every platform to spread the awareness about Global warming, climate change, water conservation, recycling, saving energy, reducing carbon emission to 350ppm etc. The organization holds successful projects under its belt.

TERMS OF REFERENCE:
1. To keep environmental issues constantly before the public with the objective of fostering more enlightened attitudes and more responsible behaviour towards the environment;
2. To keep under review the impact and effectiveness of publicity and educational programs on environmental issues and, where appropriate, to follow up the findings of such reviews;
3. To advise the government on community environmental education issues;
4. To mobilize and manage resources for the purposes of promoting environmental awareness in Pakistan in collaboration with environmental groups and other organizations;
5. To encourage and, where necessary, provide coordination of various publicity activities undertaken by non-government bodies and by government departments; and
6. if funds permit, to plan and implement environmental activities for any environmental protection events as the Committee may decide
7. To arrange plantation drives at educational and professional places.

GLOBAL WORK PARTY
Go Green got to work on 10/10/10, when the whole world was answering the call of 350.org, all over the world around 7000 events were arranged in order to aware people about increasing ratio of carbon emission.
Go Green PK was the only organization at Pakistan that answered the call and arranged an event at T2F (The Second Floor). Where people belonging to different sectors shared their experiences and gave tips to the youth (audience) for protecting the environment.
Green Talks
‘Green talks’ is another project of Go Green. Under the tag several talk sessions have been arranged till today at various schools, colleges, coaching centers and at public places. The idea of Green Talks was to empower every individual with the understanding of environment, and to make them realize for participating actively to conserve the nature.
i-AEC’11 (I AM EARTH CONFERENCE 2011)
Earth Day is a day that is intended to inspire awareness and appreciation for the Earth's natural environment. In light of this day, Go Green PK proudly took an initiative and actively participated in this global event. Go Green PK in collaboration with INSTITUTE OF BUSINESS ADMINISTETATION (IBA) arranged an earth day conference under the slogan of I am earth conference 2011 on 22 April (earth day), 2011 at IBA auditorium. The conference included a combination of presentations, speakers and a panel discussion to get students invigorated and compassionate about Earth and the environment. Speakers included renowned personalities from politicians and economists to industrialists, all speaking on the environment and its implications on our lives.
FLOOD RELIEF CAMPAIGN
Go Green PK is not a relief and rescue organization, but because of extraordinary times, extraordinary measures needed to be taken to address the devastation wrecked by the recent floods in the country. We had the unique bond of trust with local communities. We were able to get to them in their direst hour of need and support them as best as we could.
We collected good number of volunteers from different institutes. Along volunteers we headed towards the commercial busy places of Karachi like Park towers, Tariq Road, The Forum, ZamZama etc, where we had a walk for collecting money.
Flood relief campaign not only contained the walk at busy places but also we collected handsome amount from different institutes at Karachi including Bahria University, Karachi University, Institute of Business Administration (IBA), Institute of Business Management and Preston University.
